Approval of leave applications can be routed to up to two levels of approvers. Once  a leave application is submitted by an employee (or applicant), an email notification will be sent to the leave approver with an overview of the details. Leave approvers can then log in to approve or reject the leave application which in turn notifies the applicant. 

Within the leave approval structure and after assigning employees to be leave approvers, you can select the following 3 options to determine the approval order setting:

Here's the definition breakdown for each option:

1. No Order: submitted leave applications will be sent to both leave approvers simultaneously. This will allow any leave approver to approve the leave application, at his/her first opportunity. 

2. Ascending Order: submitted leave applications will be sent to 1st level approver first. Once it is approved, then a second email will be sent to 2nd level approver to approve next. 

3. Descending Order: submitted leave applications will be sent to 2nd level approver first. Once it is approved, then a second email will be sent to 1st level approver to approve next.
