If you are using OCBC corporate bank for your employees' salary disbursement, you have the option of choosing either GIRO or FAST when exporting a bank file.

To better understand which file is a better choice for you, here's how:

For Bank File (FAST), it will show the breakdown of all employees' salaries in the bank statement, which potentially could be a confidentiality issue. FAST essentially allows you to transfer funds between banks instantly. However, there is a charge for each transaction for FAST payment: https://www.ocbc.com/business-banking/help-and-support/fast-and-secure-transfers.html

For Bank File (GIRO), this is usually a preferred option because it displays 1 transaction line only in the bank statement for the whole batch payment.

In addition, for OCBC Bank File (FAST), they are not SAL coded by default. Bank File (GIRO) is SAL coded.

Once you have selected the correct bank file type, here's how you can upload the exported bank file to your OCBC Velocity portal. 😁
