Do Allowances Have Proration Enabled? (Default Settings)

This guide will explain if allowances pay items have proration enabled

The following are some of the questions that we often encounter:

  1. I realized that the Housing/Rental Allowance is not pro-rated?

  2. Is there a reason why some Allowances pay items not be pro-rated?

  3. Could you please identify which allowances pay items are subject to pro-rata adjustment, and which ones aren't?

Below, you'll find responses to frequently asked questions that we often encounter.

By default, the system sets auto-prorated allowances pay items as follows:

Auto-prorated (default setting):

  1. Allowances

Not auto-prorated (default setting):

  1. Housing/Rental Allowance

  2. Meal Allowance

  3. Extra Duty Allowance

  4. Incentive Allowance

* and other allowance-related pay items.

Can I Manually Check Pay Items with Pro-rated turned On?

You should be able to see if the default pay items are being prorated and not from the Custom Pay item page.

To go through and manage Custom Pay items, you can follow these guides:

Once on the Custom Pay Item page, you can click on the pay item and see if the setting is under Recurring, if yes Proration Settings.

You can see that the setting is set to either Yes or No; Yes means that it is auto-prorated.
