Ever wondered what happens to your unused annual leave at the end of the year? In Talenox, if your company allows it, those leftover days don’t go to waste—they’re carried forward into the new year.
And here’s the best part: Talenox will always use your carry forward leave first when you apply for annual leave. That way, you don’t miss the chance to use what you’ve earned before it expires.
What is carry forward leave?
It’s simply unused annual leave from last year that your company lets you bring over into the new year. Instead of disappearing, those days get added to your current balance (up to a limit set by your company).
A few things to keep in mind:
Your carry forward leave is not shown as a separate leave type—it’s all part of your Annual Leave balance.
When you apply for leave, Talenox will automatically deduct the carry forward portion first.
If your carry forward leave has an expiry date (e.g. use within 3 months), be sure to take it before then, or it might be forfeited.
Where can you check your leave balance?
Just head to Leave > Leave Balances > Employee Name
There, you’ll see how many days you have left, including how much of that is from last year’s carry forward (and when it expires, if applicable).
