The following are some frequently asked questions that we often encounter:

  1. We have employees who work remotely from other countries, how do we set up this employee profile?

  2. If there is a freelancer, do I just simply create an employee profile?

  3. is there a way to employ an overseas employee via Talenox?

If you have hired a freelancer or a contractor in your company, you can easily set up his/her details in the Profiles module.

For a freelancer/contractor, you need to first identify whether the employee is to contributing MPF.

1) The freelancer/contractor does not need to contribute to MPF

In the employee profile, you can select the "Freelance (local) (No MPF)" option under Employee Profile > Identification Documents > Immigration Status.

If the person is a Subcontractor with no MPF, you can also select “Subcontact (local) (No MPF)”

2) The freelancer/contractor needs to contribute to MPF

In the employee profile, you can select the following options:

  • Hong Kong Permanent Resident” - for Hong Kong PRs

  • “Hong Kong Non-Permanent Resident” - for Foreigners
