An employee covered under the Employment Act is entitled to paid annual leave:
8 days for every 12 months of continuous service with the same employer if he/she has been employed by that employer for a period of less than 2 years;
12 days for every 12 months of continuous service with the same employer if he has been employed by that employer for a period of 2 years or more, but less than 5 years;
16 days for every 12 months of continuous service with the same employer if he/she has been employed by that employer for a period of 5 years or more.
Annual leave can be pro-rated if an employee has worked less than a full year in that particular calendar year.
Paid annual leave to which an employee is entitled shall be in addition to rest days and public holidays.
